Minding others business

Dear Followers

So this is me walking into the BTech labs the other day.... NOT minding my own business.. (Because who does that, like seriously)

I overheard the interior designers talk about knuckling each others backs.... and i peeked over to see what they were doing to each other....

and as the person that I am (voor op die wa) jumps in to the conversation and tell them what the safest way of doing it is.... here is a photo to prove it..

I had to do a few of their backs... it was a good day :) ;)

"Working Hard"

So at the moment this is the Interiors working soooooo hard..... pffft they are actually watching the cricket!! And we sitting here working our butts off.. and having a big giggle about their enthusiasm about the cricket!!

And if you look really hard you will see 2 lecturers in the crowd there... #lovemyvarsity

2nd Year Project

Morning Followers

So a while back we had to manage a second year group of Architectural Technology students.

We were each assigned 3 students and we had to choose a house that will be our main focus. drawings had to be done like Floor Plans, Site plans, sections, drainage sections, elevations, part wall details and annotation details.

I must say the team of 2nd years that i had was pretty amazing... 3 crits a week and they always ALWAYS had something to show me.. i was very impressed with them.

Last Friday was the hand-in  for the assignment and thus the project came to an end.

Its sad because I really enjoyed being their mentor.

That's all for that project... Later peeps

Floral Friday

Hi followers

What an intense week this has been! from design hand-in to My second year students project to DKD submission... so ya have been a bit scare on here because of all of the work..

Time to catch up:

So we are busy with this DKD project where we have to do intense research on a Green Star Rated building in Australia. Thus I have chosen the Surry Hills Library and Community centre building. This building is a 5 star rater building. It is a beautiful building of note!!!

Dealing from Passive Cooling and heating, geothermal coils creating energy from the ground. In such ways a clever design that is a true inspiration..

Here Are some images :) enjoy.

3D Progress

Hi Followers :)

Got my last crit this morning from our lecturers.. Was a good one and have a clear view I can go in. The main focus is on all the finer details and connections that my building offers.

I have been working on a 3D model in the same time. Below is a few Views of my Pavilion.

Design Design Design...

Evening Followers

So this week most of my focus is on my design project. (Ironman Event Pavilion)

Today was a good crit with my Lecturer, Nicola, moving me forward in the right direction. Built a Concept model #3. Picture below.. just loving my free form flow of the whole concept. the idea of free movement through the elevated pavilion, creating spaces within the structure to be fully functioned for registration and information center, viewing deck, meet and greet, media and commentators areas...

But none the less the heat is on this week... having to produce drawings like floor plans, section, elevations and some details. Good luck to all the other Btech-ies. Peace

Design Progress

Greatings Followers

I come to you at this time of the night bearing some images of my progress in my design so far.

Dealing with the Ironman and what spaces is all needed and what the site requires has been a huge challenge, but none the less, after some hectic design block, I have finally made a breakthrough..

Really glad about this.. so here is some pictures of what I have been up to in the adventure of this design project...

The organised mess.. all in getting the right process.

In working progress.. design sketches
My first concept model..
The second concept model

And just so all of you know.. this is my first mobile post.. :)

The BIG Render

Dear Followers

So the last couple of days was a bit of a trail and error phase where we had to do some rendering work.

The Project entitled that we pick an image of desire, with some artificial and natural lighting, then to recreate the image in 3D form.

Having worked on Revit Architecture for a while now has brought my experience level up very well. Thus I chose to do my 3D in Revit. (my strong point).

Dealing with the modeling of everything: including - flowers, fruit, chairs, lights, coffee machines, taps, floors and etc. The best part of doing this project is not only seeing the end result and feeling very proud of what YOU created, but the actual experience you have through the modeling and applying materials and finishes.

A lot of 'unnamed' words was shed and a lot of 'YES it worked!!'

Below is the image I chose and the image I recreated. Enjoy... And please Comment :)
